Rega Brio MK7 amplifier
The Brio is Rega's best-selling amplifier and the MK7 is the most capable version of it. The circuit was re-laid from scratch for lower distortion, and it now delivers 50 watts per channel into 8 ohms — 72 into 4 — from the familiar half-width aluminium case. What is new is the built-in Rega DAC: coaxial and optical inputs up to 192kHz, so a streamer or a television joins the system without another box. Three line inputs, the moving-magnet phono stage and a headphone output complete it. Over the io you gain power, digital inputs and standby; under the Elex MK4 you give up the full-width chassis and its bigger supply. Note that the MK7 uses a new remote code and will not answer the Solaris handset.
