Apheta 3

The Apheta 3 is Rega's mid moving-coil and where the design philosophy gets purist. It carries no tie-wire and no foam damper — the parts most moving-coils rely on and that age and colour the sound — instead using a rhomboid pivot and a coil hand-wound on an iron cross half the size of the original. The fine-line diamond is mounted through 90 degrees for stiffness and control, and the body is machined from a single piece of aluminium. It is the natural partner for the Planar 8 and Planar 10. Above the PPS-bodied Ania Pro and below the Aphelion 2, the Apheta 3 is serious moving-coil at a still-sane price.
