Rega
Planar 10
The Planar 10 is the last deck before the cost-no-object Naia, and the first Rega to use ceramic. Its bracing is ceramic, its platter is a diamond-cut ceramic-oxide disc, and both exist for one reason: to be so rigid and so accurately made that speed never wavers and no energy is stored to muddy the sound. The RB3000 tonearm is built to tolerances so tight that no glue is used anywhere in it. The outboard P10 supply runs the motor from a crystal-locked digital generator. This is reference performance in a deck you can still live with daily — pair it with the Apheta 3 or Aphelion 2 and there is very little vinyl cannot do.
