Rega
Kyte
The Kyte is Rega's compact two-way, and the loudspeaker the System One was voiced around. Its cabinet is not wood: it is moulded phenolic resin, stiffened inside with ceramic plates and cross-bracing, because a cabinet that flexes adds its own sound to the music. The drivers are Rega's own — a handmade MX-125 bass-mid and the ZRR high-frequency unit — and even the crossover components are wound in-house. Six ohms, 89dB, rear-ported, and light enough at 3.7 kilos to put almost anywhere; a rear foot is supplied for angling it on a shelf, and a stand adaptor is available separately. Honest, fast and unfussy about placement.
