Planar 2

The Planar 2 is the first real step up the ladder. Where the Planar 1 uses a phenolic platter, the Planar 2 moves to a 10mm float-glass 'Optiwhite' platter and the more capable RB220 tonearm with adjustable bias — so it will grow with better cartridges than it ships with. The Carbon cartridge comes fitted for plug-and-play, or you can take the factory-fitted Nd3 option for a clear lift in detail. Think of it as the Planar 1's performance ceiling raised: still simple to live with, but with the glass platter and arm that let you hear what a good pressing really holds.
