RB880

The RB880 is the Planar 8's arm, standing between the RB330 and the reference tiers. It moves to an aluminium vertical bearing housing with a stainless sleeve and shaft for more rigidity, hand-matched bearings, and a thinner stainless balance weight that widens cartridge compatibility. The gains over the RB330 are exactly the kind Rega chases — a stiffer structure, fewer places for resonance to live — and they reward a resolving deck and a good moving-coil. If you are upgrading an older Planar or building around a high-end cartridge, this is the arm where the engineering starts to feel uncompromised.
