The Planar 3 is the one Rega is judged by — the model that has won What Hi-Fi's turntable award more years than any rival, and the deck we most often point people toward. The jump from the Planar 2 is the RB330 tonearm and a thicker 12mm glass platter, carried on a double-braced plinth that is stiffened exactly where the arm meets the bearing. It is also the first Planar ready for the outboard Neo power supply, so it has somewhere to go. Fit it with the Nd3 or the nude-diamond Nd5, and you have a turntable that will still satisfy long after the system around it has changed.

It's a no brainer, the 50th anniversary Rega Planar 3. Useful upgrades for not much more, and simply wonderful vinyl replay in every regard.
