ND3

The Nd3 opens Rega's Nd family — a moving-magnet range built around the world's most powerful commercial magnet, Neodymium, where most rivals use a plain bar magnet. That extra power lets Rega wind a smaller, lighter coil, and the result is more detail than a magnet cartridge at this price usually gives. It runs a bonded elliptical stylus on an aluminium cantilever and tracks at a light 1.75g. It is the natural upgrade from the Carbon and the factory-fit option on the Planar 2 and 3. Above it, the Nd5 moves to a nude diamond; the Nd3 is where the family's advantages first become audible.
