Ania
The Ania is Rega's way into moving-coil, and the cartridge the Planar 6 RS package is built around. Its micro coil is hand-wound onto an iron micro cross and driven by a high-power neodymium magnet, all carried in a rigid PPS-Fortron body with 40% glass content - a shell Rega spent a year tooling for, because a moving coil is only ever as steady as what holds it. A diamond-tipped elliptical stylus reads the groove. At 350 µV it needs a moving-coil phono stage, and the Fono MC is the natural partner. Below the Ania Pro, it is the least expensive way into what moving-coil does differently.
